The Etio-Canadian Azawent Association is here to serve you!
About Us
The Etio-Canadian Azawent Association is a non-profit organization based in Ottawa, Ontario focused on advancing the health and wellbeing of the seniors in the community. Established in 2018 as one of the first seniors organizations catering specifically to the Ethiopian and Eritrean demographic in Ottawa, the ECAA prides itself in providing systems and support to seniors as they age-well. We provide year-round seminars, outreaches, training and more to those who join us. Located at the Bronson Centre, feel free to browse our schedule and join us for an upcoming event!
Mission
Our mission is to provide essential services to seniors from Ethiopian and Eritrean communities in Ottawa and its environs. These services are entirely delivered by volunteers from the community who offer time, expertise and resources.
Purpose
To come together and have time for tea and coffee at least once a month. We hope to encourage members to participate in various programs and build the community. We aim to encourage each other and strengthen the relationships amongst members in the group. Our main goal is to make this group a home away from home.
Membership
Our association currently has 85 members and 80 volunteers for a total of 165 members. Driven to do our part in making the world a better place. Since 2000, we have taken part in a wide range of activities that empower individuals and communities. We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits. Are you ready to join us and create real transformation in the lives of so many?
